Black Friday Book Swap in support of East Lothian Foodbank
This Black Friday, we don't want to encourage you to buy more books, we'd like you to swap them! Join us on Friday, 24th November, at any time from 12 to 7pm at Night Owl Books East Linton, to meet other readers, and swap your books!
How many books can I swap?
Please bring up to three books that you'd like to swap - when you arrive at Night Owl please make your way to the till and we'll give you a special sticker to mark your books as available for swapping.
Do I have to swap my books directly with another reader?
Feel free to stay and chat with other readers! Or if you're in a hurry, once you've received your sticker you can leave your books on our central table, and swap them for any that catch your eye there!
What can I donate to support East Lothian Foodbank?
Not everyone looks forward to Christmas, and this year the soaring cost of living means more people will struggle to feed themselves and their families, and need our support.
Demand and costs have continued to rise for East Lothian Foodbank, and they anticipate feeding over 8,000 people this winter.
We know it’s a huge ask at a time when costs are soaring, but we'd be so grateful if you could donate any of the following items, to help East Lothian Foodbank to ensure they have the essential items they need to provide meals for any day of the week:
- long-life milk
- long-life fruit juice
- tinned soup
- baked beans
- tinned meat and fish
- tinned potatoes or mashed potatoes
- tinned tomatoes
- tinned vegetables
- tinned fruit
- pasta sauce
- tea or coffee
(Please remember everything must be non-perishable.)
Thank you so much in advance for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at our Book Swap!
